Why Andaman?

When you think of the crystal clear blue water , pristine beaches and exquisite marine life, the place that comes to mind in Andaman. Reef found in Andaman known as the third most beautiful and populated coral reef in the world. The beautiful island provides a lot of attraction and fun for the tourist and backpackers alike.
This archipelago is having more than 300 Islands alone in Andaman and the remaining in Nicobar Islands. The Island is little unexplored mainly due to the distance and accessibility from the mainland. And that is where the beauty of this place lies. Water sports are something you don,t want miss on these Islands.

Port Blair

Port Blair is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and also the entry point to these alluring Islands. There are some places of interest in the town like the Cellular Jail, Samudrika Marine Museum, and water sports complex among others.


Cellular jail ( Kala Pani )

Cellular jail ( Kala Pani ) in Port Blair is the best place to find important pieces of information regarding the past histories of the islands, and will understand more about what happened here. The light and sound show run at cellular jail is one of famous attractions there, it shows dramatical saga of freedom struggle recreating the past life and struggle of our martyrs.

Baratang Island

Baratang Island has beautiful beaches, mangroves creeks, mud-volcanoes and lime stone caves. The Baratang island consist Dense Forest, Tribes, Mangroves, Dongi rides, beaches, birds, caves and trekking. Well, Baratang has all o these things to offer. Plan a trip to this island and become a part of the tropical side of the Andaman Islands.


Ross Island and North Bay Island

Once this island had markets, bakery, stores, workshop, water distillation plant, church, tennis court, printing press, secretariat, hospital, cemetery, open air theatre and others but, today everything has disappeared except some old dilapidated buildings as landmarks. This island will make you nostalgic and takes you back in time of the Britishers. The Indian Navy has rebuilt some of the old buildings like the bakery and the local stores from you’ll get some tux . North Bay Island is a popular destination in Port Blair for the snorkelling opportunities in its fringing coral reefs are the closest ones you will find at Port Blair. The island is totally controlled by the Indian Navy, and all tourists are required to metion their arrival and departure. What makes Ross Island most attractive is the fact that British Colonial government decided, in 1857, following the first Indian revolt for independence, to setup a hardcopy punishment administration facility to deal with high profile Indian Freedom Fighters.

Chidiya Tapu

Chidiya Tapu is 30 KM from main city; this place is famous for for bird watching and sunset view. Varieties of birds hit this place. To catch the sunset, recommended time to be at Chidiya Tapu is around 4 p.m. For adventure lovers Chidia Tapu has more to offer. A trekking trail, which passes through beautiful coast line and forest to reach the Munda Pahad(Black Mountain). The trail starts from the shore of Chidiya Tapu beach and moves up passing through dense forest. Upon reaching Munda Pahad, a black cliff at the edge of Chidia Tapu having an open sea scape is an amazing site, which most of the travellers visiting these islands miss.


Wandoor Beach

Wandoor Beach - 25 km away from Port Blair, this beach is the place someone to be in, to enjoy the best view of the sunset or sunrise, or otherwise. Wandoor is one of the popular beach in Andaman and Nicobar. This mesmerizing beach is ideal for witnessing the colourful corals and enjoying swimming. As located near Port Blair, this beach is easily accessible by the tourists visiting Andaman. If you are into adventures , then there is a short trek to natural caves formed over the passage of time by high tides which enclose the beach.

Havelock Island

Havelock Island, officially Swaraj Island, is the one of the largest islands that embrace islands of the east of Great Andaman in the Andaman Islands. If Sea, sun and sand were your ideal kind vacation, then Havelock Island is your heaven. It is home to the most beautiful beaches in Asia. Radhanagar Beach is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches of Asia.


Radhanagar Beach

Radhanagar Beach or Beach No. 7 is rated as the best beach in India, and also named as "Best Beach in Asia" by Time in 2004. The lush and green trees on the side of beach offer tourists opportunity to enjoy the serenity and nature's charm. The breathtaking sight of sunset on this beach is worth watching .Sunbathing, swimming and basking in the sun are the best activities to enjoy here.

Elephant Beach

Elephant Beach offers a great opportunity to watch beautiful marine ecosystem, in its purest way. Elephant beach is one of the ideal destination for water sports and for leisure tour. This beach is also another ideal site for diving, snorkelling, swimming, bird-watching, trekking and some other activities. Kalapathar Beach

Kalapathar Beach is located on one corner of Havelock. This beach is mostly lined by mahua trees, whose trunks grow along the ground for many feet before they begin to climb vertically. The drive to reach Kalapathar Beach id better and fun. An open blue/green colored waters towards your left on your way to Kalapathar beach makes it an extremely nice ride. The water is deep enough to swim and also not affected by tides. Kalapathar also offers a couple of umbrellas and wooden chairs. This brach is an ideal location to spend some quality time alone or with your loved one and also having a few good snorkeling spots.

Neil Island

Neil Island is famous for its magnificent biodiversity, untouched coral reefs, sandy beaches, and tropical woodlands; This Island is perfect for a peaceful time off. The blue sea waters and golden sandy beaches are pleasent to the eyes. All beaches in Neil have been named after characters from the Ramayana ( Indian Mythology) – Ramnagar, Sitapur, Laxmanpur, and Bharatpur to be precise. Neil Island is best suited for those who want to spend a relaxed time and a luxurious few days admist nature. Apart from the pristine beaches, Niel Island is also having a natural bridge which is a must visit destination in Neil island. It’s mesmerizing to see the sunrise at Neil Island.


Laxmanpur Beach

Laxmanpur Beach lies in the village of Laxmanpur is one of the most beautiful beaches of Neil Island, this beach is ideal for activities like swimming and sun bathing. Consist of white shell sand with shallow waters and dead corals which make it perfect for snorkelling as well. The wide beach is perfect for evening walk and offers outstanding sunset views. . The natural rock formations here are the star attraction of this beach. A tiny tower made by the locals using dead coral and sea shells are also in view.

Sitapur Beach

Sitapur Beach also known as the ‘sunrise beach’ is best spot to enjoy the lovely sunrise every morning. Due to its geographical location, the island is suffer from higher tides and stronger currents. The long wide soft sand with lots of shady palm trees gives an eye-soothing atmosphere. The beach is mainly a visit to enjoy the alluring sunrise and view of the vegetation around. It is one of the best places to experience the untouched beauty of the Andaman. Because it is an unexplored territory , there are a very few places offering food and drink options and hence you should carry your own food .


Bharatpur Beach

Bharatpur Beach looks like a painting by an artist and considerd as one of the best beach in Neil Island. This popular beaches beach of Andaman Islands offers glass bottom boat rides, snorkelling and scuba diving. Its real beauty though, is experienced only by scuba dive that can expose you to an amazing array of fish, a colourful reef and some uther interesting parts of marine life. Sunset view here is alluring and worth watching.


Diglipur is a prominent ecotourism destination, mainly known for its beaches like Kalipur Beach, Ross & Smith Islands, Ramnagar Beach, and Pathi Level Beach that hosts activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, and trekking. It is famous for its Oranges, rice and marine life. Diglipur happens to the be the largest peaks in this archipelago, which often intrestes the trekkers to see its unique wildlife. Do visit Ramnagar Beach, and Kalipur Beach to see the turtle nesting. Saddle Peak is the highest point of this Island nearby.Andaman Islands have only one river which is ‘Kalpong’ flows through Diglipur and sustains the first and the only hydroelectricity project of the archipelago.
